£8000 of National Lottery funding awarded to Centre for Independent Living Kent towards tackling of activity inequalities in Kent.
Lockdown, shielding and the pandemic has been really tough for disabled people. Months of inactivity and isolation has taken it’s toll on many people’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
We have teamed up with the Vitality Hub to run a pilot project connecting Disabled People with volunteers to encourage and support them to get more active.
Under the guidance of a Vitality Hub Personal Trainer a Movement Facilitator will become an exercise buddy to encourage disabled people to get moving again.
Either online or face to face support to carry out ‘movement Check-ups’ demonstrating exercise and how to exercise safely. Making exercise engaging and an enjoyable experience.
We are looking for friendly, approachable, good communicators with an interest in exercise and health promoting activities.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or if you are a Disabled Person wanting to get active please contact us at:
