SUPPORT CiLK
The Centre for Independent Living Kent (CiLK) relies on both funding and donations from the public and other external sources to operate. Without such support CiLK would cease to exist.
CiLK is a social model based independent pan-disability organisation run, controlled and managed by disabled people.
We are constantly in need of funding and are very grateful to the many organisations and individuals that have chosen to donate and support our valuable work.
Previous Funders include:
2002/03 - Kent Social Services, SCOPE, European Year of Disabled People
2003/04 - Kent Social Services, Royal British Legion Industries
2006/07 - Big Lottery Fund, Lloyds TSB Foundations, Nirvana Motor Homes
2007/08 - Big Lottery Fund, Smiths Charity
2009/10 - Big Lottery Fund (January 2010), Kent Action for Respite Care (May 2010), KCC Elected Members, Kent Adult Social Services
Gift Aid provides a great opportunity for you to increase the value of the donations you make to CILK. Provided you are a UK taxpayer, however you make your donations, CILK can reclaim the basic rate tax from the Inland Revenue, boosting the donation by 28%. This means that a donation of £10.00 is worth £12.80 to CiLK.
There are several different ways you can make a donation:
BY POST
Donations can be made by cheque, postal order or cash and should be posted to:
CiLK, c/o Red Cross Kent Area Office, 25 College Road, Maidstone, Kent ME15 6SX..
Please make cheques and postal orders payable to CiLK. We recommend that cash payments should only be sent using recorded delivery by Royal Mail.
BY STANDING ORDER
If you want to make regular donations, payments by standing order are an effective way of doing this. You can make payments weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly to suit. Once the initial forms are completed, please return them to the CiLK office for processing, we will then forward them to your bank who will do the rest.
PAYROLL GIVING
Many employers now operate Payroll Giving schemes. These schemes are tax efficient as they enable you to make a donation directly from your salary before tax has been deducted. This means that if you pay the basic rate of tax, for every £1.00 you give to CiLK, it only costs you 78 pence. (For higher rate taxpayers the scheme has even greater advantages).

LEGACIES
Legacies are an effective way of making sure that your good intentions and our vital work continues into the future. Naturally, your first concern will be for your family and loved ones, but please consider helping us by including CiLK with your will.
Legacies are tax-free and simple to set up even if you do not currently have a will.
