Reaching out to Black Asian Minority Ethnic communities

Reaching out to Black Asian Minority Ethnic communities

Centre for Independent Living Kent (CiLK) is all about supporting Disabled Adults to live independently with choice and control.
As a Disabled Person’s User Led Organisation (DPULO) we are all Disabled People, with a predominantly female staff team. We support people with information and guidance about all aspects of life as a Disabled Person.

While we are supporting a lot of individuals, their families and carers, we have noticed that we are not currently supporting many people from the BAME community.

We want to address this. We want to make changes and adapt so that people from all communities know that we are there for them. But we are going to need your help to achieve this.

We want to know how we can be more inclusive, what we can do better and how we can ensure that any disabled person that wants it, gets the support they need. We want to make sure that we reach out to everyone and offer support in the best way possible.
