The project ‘Access for All’ lead by the National Tourist Board, VisitEngland, is developing and promoting destinations for disabled visitors to increase opportunities for people with access needs to take a short break. They are calling out for disabled volunteers to be Mystery Shoppers! If selected, you will visit a venue as a regular visitor and then feedback on how you found the experience and accessibility. This would involve:
- A free day out/overnight stay/meal
- Complete a feedback questionnaire
- Reasonable travel and subsistence expenses covered
The chosen destination in Kent is Thanet, where a number of attractions and accommodation providers are taking part to ensure they can offer the highest standard of access for visitors. These organisations went through an audit of their businesses, and are currently undertaking online and classroom training for the face-to-face employees.
