VISIT CILK'S MOBILE SERVICE

Yes, we come to you!

Click here to see where we will be visiting

With funding from The Big Lottery to purchase a wheelchair accessible vehicle, the CILK mobile service is already burning up the miles.

CILK's mobile service covesr all areas in Kent including Dartford and the Medway Towns and provides advocacy, peer support and information covering all aspects of independent living.

The mobile manager Marian Khamo will assist those wishing to become direct payment users as well as those who are already receiving direct payments.  We have information on services, equipment and much, much more so that you can make an informed decision about living independently, finding support providers and paying for your own support and assistance requirements.

The innovative CILK mobile service delivers these enabling services direct to dsabledLift people across the County regardless of age, impairment or ethic origin; it encourages and empowers all disabled people to take control of their lives by making use of the services/support they need.

CILK initially received funding from KCC, the European Year of Disabled People and other sources and has continued to work very hard to successfully secure further funding to continue its valuable work of providing enabling, independent living services direct to disabled people.

In February 2006 CILK was awarded funding from the Big Lottery; this money has enabled CILK to fund the first mobile centre for independent living in the Country and the salary to pay for a manger.

CILK is a registered Charity, a Company limited by guarantee and an independent Organisation run, controlled and managed by disabled people whose guiding ethos is the Social Model of Disability, the 12 basic requirements for independent living as identified by disabled people and equality and diversity.

If you would like the mobile to visit your area or attend an event please do not hesitated to contact me on 01622 355777 or e-mail me on enquiry@cilk.org.uk to arrange a mutually convenient time.
